Protein Production in Transgenic Animals

چکیده

developments in biotechnology provide different methods for making products. How the industry responds to the new challenges will, to a large extent, be governed by the attitudes of the consumer. One of the major effects of biotechnology will be the altering of consumers’ attitudes towards farm crops. Future farms will produce food more efficiently, perhaps in environments where originally it was considered too difficult. In addition, farms will produce many different raw materials for industrial processes, a variety of pharmaceutical proteins for human and animal use, and serve as a source of vaccines for many of the developing nations. One of the technologies that will contribute to this expansion in new products is the generation of transgenic species, both plant and animal. The purpose of this paper is to introduce transgenic animal technology by describing what it is, how it is performed, and why it has such potential. A few examples of possible products will be discussed, and the concept of livestock “stem cells” will be introduced.

Safety Assessment of cryIAc for human, animals and environment

Risk assessment of a transgene is one of the key steps in genetic transformation. Hence, in order to use cryIAc gene for production of transgenic plants, a library and in-silico research was performed to confirm safety of the gene for human comsumption, animal feed and environment. In the first step, the molecular mechanism of action of the CryIAc protein and its specific receptors in the midgu...

Expression of an epitope-based recombinant vaccine against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMDV) in tobacco plant (Nicotiana tabacum)

Regarding high potential of green plants for development of recombinant vaccines, this research was conducted to evaluate expression of a novel recombinant vaccines against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMDV) in tobacco plant. For this purpose, a synthetic gene encoding 129-169 amino acids of foot and mouth disease virus capsid protein VP1 was transferred to tobacco plant via Agrobacterium-mediated g...

Induction of DrsB1-CBDAvr4 Recombinant Protein in Hairy and Adventitious Roots of T1 Transgenic Plants

Hairy and adventitious roots are efficient systems for expressing recombinant proteins. In the present study, the amount of DrsB1-CBDAvr4 recombinant protein in hairy and adventitious root systems was compared. To this end, the effect of different factors on the optimization of culture conditions to obtain adventitious and hairy roots was evaluated in three separate experiments by assessment of...

Retroviral Transduction of Fluonanobody and the Variable Domain of Camelid Heavy-Chain Antibodies to Chicken Embryonic Cells

Background: Single domain antibodies from camel heavy chain antibodies (VHH or nanobody), are advantages due to higher solubility, stability, high homology with human antibody, lower immunogenicity and low molecular weight. These criteria make them candidates for production of engineered antibody fragments particularly in transgenic animals. Objective: To study the development of transgenic ch...

Transformation And Light Inducible Expression of cry1Ab Gene in Oilseed Rape (Brassica napus L.)

Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) is the third most important oil crop in global productions. One of the major limiting factors for oilseed rape production is lepidopteran pests of the Brassicaceae family. Transgenic plants expressing Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) genes are powerful tools in the integrated pest management of crop plants. In the present study, we used a synthetic Bt insecticidal crysta...
